United States President Joe Biden stated that ending the Yemen conflict is the administration's highest priority, the White House revealed in a statement released on Thursday.
Following the decision by the warring parties to extend the current truce for another two months, Biden stated that the administration's goal is to achieve a "permanent settlement" of the conflict in Yemen while also de-escalating tensions throughout the Middle East.
Previously, the United Nations announced that Yemen's Houthi rebels and the Saudi-led coalition had reached an agreement to extend the existing ceasefire.
