The trade negotiations between the United States and China have reportedly hit the wall once again, this time over the purchase of US agricultural products by China, sources with knowledge of the matter told the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday. Beijing, according to the media outlet, seeks to avoid a one-sided deal and at the same time have a way out if the trade tensions start running high again.
"We can always stop the purchases if things get worse again," a Beijing official warned.
Also, China is reportedly looking to avoid a strong enforcement mechanism and forced tech transfer cuts for companies who want to do business there, one person familiar with the negotiations stated.
