The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed an attack conducted by the Yemen-based Houthis on February 24 in the Gulf of Aden, previously announced by the Spokesperson of the Yemeni Armed Forces Yahya Sare'e.
CENTCOM provided further details of the assault in a post on X, formerly Twitter, writing that the Houthis launched one anti-ship ballistic missile targeting the M/V Torm Thor, a U.S.-flagged, owned, and operated chemical/oil product tanker in the Gulf of Aden. The missile impacted the water near the ship, causing no damage or injuries.
Earlier that evening US forces shot down two one-way attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the Red Sea, with the third UAV crashing due to an in-flight failure.
