The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for all items in the United States increased by 3.1% on a yearly basis in November, according to a report the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released on Tuesday. In October, the index was 3.2% higher year-on-year.
The index for all items except food and energy rose by 4% annually in November, while food prices jumped 2.9% over the past 12 months and energy prices fell 5.4%.
The CPI for all items grew 0.1% in November compared to the previous month, while the index less food and energy increased 0.3%. Food prices advanced 0.2% on a monthly basis, while energy prices were down 2.3%.
