The US embassy in Beirut on Thursday issued a cautionary advisory urging American citizens to refrain from traveling to Lebanon due to the "complex" security environment.
"In particular, we call your attention to the Country Summary, which advises that the Lebanese government cannot guarantee the protection of US citizens against sudden outbreaks of violence and armed conflict," the consulate said. " US citizens in Lebanon should not travel to southern Lebanon, the Lebanon-Syria border area, or refugee settlements."
This warning comes amidst heightened tensions in the area. The embassy emphasized the importance of staying informed about ongoing developments by monitoring news updates.
