US-funded Ukraine labs studied bat coronavirus - Russia

The Russian Defense Ministry claimed on Thursday that data obtained from United States-funded biological laboratories in Ukraine showed that they carried out experiments on coronavirus in bats.

Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov (pictured right) said that another package of documents obtained from similar facilities in Ukraine will be unveiled soon and that the data they contain will be examined.

Yesterday, the United States Department of State only dismissed allegations that Washington and Kiev conducted chemical and biological weapons activities in Ukraine, without explaining the exact nature of the two countries' cooperation in those biological laboratories.
