The annual inflation rate in the United States reached 2.7% in November, rising slightly from October's 2.6% and matching expectations, the Department of Labor Statistics revealed in its report published on Wednesday. On a monthly level, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) grew by 0.3%, corresponding to predictions.
The energy index once again did not register any monthly changes while declining by 3.2% on an annual basis. The food index increased by 0.4% month-on-month and 2.4% year-on-year.
The core CPI, which excludes food and energy, went up by 0.3% compared to the previous month and 3.3% over the previous 12 months.
