The number of seasonally adjusted initial jobless claims in the United States fell by 20,000 to 192,000 in the week ending March 11, the Department of Labor revealed in its report on Thursday. The 4-week moving average declined by 750 from the previous week's revised average to stand at 196,500.
Meanwhile, the insured unemployment rate stood at 1.2% in the week ending March 4, registering no change in comparison to the previous week, as the insured unemployment number came in at 1,684,000, decreasing 29,000 from the previous week's revised figures. The 4-week moving average was 1,676,500, down by 1,750 compared to the week prior.
