United States President Joe Biden (pictured center) met with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida (right) and South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol (left) during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in San Francisco. Biden thanked the two leaders for "greatly reducing his load in carrying out his duties as president of the United States," according to the South Korean government.

The White House said Biden agreed the three countries should accelerate cooperation "in all areas." He and Kishida also committed to working to deliver aid to Palestinians in Gaza, continuing to support Ukraine, and maintaining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, the Korean Peninsula, and the East and South China Seas. They also "resolved to work together closely to address shared challenges" in the Indo-Pacific in view of Washington's support for Japan "backed by the full range of US capabilities."
