Stock equities on Wall Street traded mostly higher during Monday's premarket hours, kicking off the first week of June on a high note as investors braced for the release of financial reports in the coming days.
GameStop Corporation returned to the spotlight, with its stock skyrocketing as much as 90% in early morning action after well-known trader Keith Gill, famously known as "Roaring Kitty" shared a screenshot of what appeared to be his substantial holding of the company's common shares and call options over the weekend. Shares of Paramount Global climbed 5% following reports that Skydance Media offered it a new merger deal.
The Nasdaq 100 grew 0.44% and the S&P 500 jumped 0.25% at 4:25 am ET. The Dow Jones Industrial Average stood flat at the same time. The euro lost 0.08% against the US dollar, selling at 1.08407.
