Nonfarm employment in the United States increased by 150,000 in October, data released by the country's Bureau of Labor Statistics showed on Friday.
The unemployment rate stood at 3.9%, up 0.1 percentage points from the previous month. The labor force participation rate decreased by 0.1 percentage points to 62.7%. The workforce grew the most in the healthcare sector, with 58,000 jobs gained. Government employment increased by 51,000, followed by social assistance which added 19,000 jobs.
Average hourly earnings for all employees on private nonfarm payrolls rose by $0.07 or 0.2% from September to reach $34 in October, while the year-on-year increase stood at 4.1%.
