Crude oil inventories in the United States increased by 4.2 million barrels in the week that ended on March 7, a report released by the American Petroleum Institute (API) showed on Tuesday. The figure allegedly indicated a larger than expected crude oil build-up.
Gasoline stockpiles for the reported week fell by 4.5 million barrels while distillates were up by 421,000. Additionally, the reserves in Cushing, Oklahoma were said to have declined by 1.2 million barrels for the same period.
