Personal spending rose by 0.2% or $39.1 billion in the United States in April compared to March, according to a report by the Bureau of Economic Analysis on Friday. Personal income was up by 0.3% or $65.3 billion month-on-month, and the disposable income added 0.2% or $40.2 billion.
The personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index increased by 0.3% on a monthly basis and 2.7% annually, in line with expectations. The core PCE price index grew by 0.2% from March and 2.8% year-on-year.
