Personal consumption expenditures (PCE) in the United States increased by $32.7 billion or 0.2%, in May compared to the previous month, the country's Bureau of Economic Analysis announced in a report published on Thursday.
The PCE price index was up 0.6% on a monthly and 6.3% on an annual basis. Excluding food and energy, the index was 0.3% higher from April, while increasing 4.7% year-over-year. The annual figure was 0.2 percentage points lower than the one recorded in April.
The report showed that, in May, personal income grew 0.5%, while Real PCE declined by 0.4% compared to the previous month.
