United States Postmaster General Louis DeJoy has asked the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to help the US Postal Service (USPS) cut costs and improve operations.
In a letter to Congress on Monday, he outlined plans to eliminate 10,000 jobs and slash billions from the budget. He said outdated regulations and federal mandates have cost USPS up to $11 billion a year. He also called for solutions to fight counterfeit postage and review retail leases.
DeJoy, who announced in February he will step down at an unspecified date, signed an agreement with DOGE last week.
