The United States has agreed to supply Ukraine with bombs with a range of around 95 miles (150km), the Associated Press reported. Currently, the bombs sent to Ukraine from the US have a maximum range of 50 miles (80km). Unnamed officials said that an unspecified number of bombs will be included in a new support package worth $2.17 billion, which will be unveiled on Friday.
The package will allegedly also include ammunition and support equipment worth $425 million from existing stockpiles, as well as $1.75 billion in new weapons funded through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative. "The assistance initiative, which will pay for the longer-range bombs and the air defense system integration, also funds two HAWK air defense systems, anti-aircraft guns and ammunition, and counter-drone systems," according to the report.
