The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a post on X, formerly Twitter, that two anti-ship ballistic missiles were fired from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen into the Southern Red Sea on January 2.
According to the US, the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels targeted commercial ships in the Red Sea, however, none of the ships that spotted the missiles reported any damage and managed to avoid the assault.
"These illegal actions endangered the lives of dozens of innocent mariners and continue to disrupt the free flow of international commerce," CENTCOM added in the post.
