US to allocate $2.17B-worth security aid to Kiev

Pentagon spokesman United States Air Force General Patrick Ryder revealed on Friday that the country's department of defense will allocate additional $2.17 billion in security assitance to Ukraine.

"In total, the US has now committed $32 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since 2014, and $29.3 billion since Russia's unprovoked and illegal invasion nearly one year ago," Ryder underlined during the press briefing. Accoding to Pentagon spokesman, the package will include "critical" air defense capabilities and armoured infantry vehicle "that Ukraine is using so effectively to defend its people."

In addition, the security assistance package will include other equipment such as artillery ammunition, as well as conventional and long-range rockets for US-provided HIMARS.
