US to tighten sanctions on Rusia - WH

White House Special Advisor, Matt Miller, stated on Tuesday that the United States government is looking at ways to tighten the currently imposed sanctions on Russian over the military operation in Ukraine.

Miller asserted that the government is looking for ways to apply even more pressure on Russia with its partners. On the other side, he remarked that his government is increasing the number of weapons sent to Kiev and more "security assistance" to the Ukrainian military.

Asked about the position of the European allies, Miller further stated that the US is "cognizant of the different challenges" that the "European allies face." Finally, he concluded that to label the Russian military operation as a terrorist is an assessment that has to be done by the State Department.
