The United States Treasury expanded on Wednesday its list of sanctioned Russian individuals and entities. It is now targeting an additional 29 Russian nationals and 40 entities, including commercial bank Transkapitalbank.
Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Brian Nelson said the administration "can and will target those who evade, attempt to evade, or aid the evasion of US sanctions against Russia," in addition to those who aid Russia's operations in Ukraine. "The United States will work to ensure that the sanctions we have imposed, in close coordination with our international partners, degrade the Kremlin’s ability to project power and fund its invasion," he said in a statement.
