US wants to destroy EU, remove Russia from int'l stage - Lukashenko

The United States wants to weaken or entirely eliminate Russia from the international stage, and destroy European Union by having the bloc more dependent on Washington, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stressed on Tuesday.

Lukashenko added that Washington's goal is to delegitimize Moscow from the international scene in order to become "closer' with China.

During today's military security meeting with the Belarusian president, Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin issued a warning that the military-political situation in Belarus is evolving "under the influence of an unprecedented geopolitical confrontation between Russia and the collective West," underlining that a "full-scale proxy war" has been unleashed against Moscow.
