European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, alongside European Council President Charles Michel, French President Emmanuel Macron, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, will be meeting Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban before the European Union summit commences on Thursday, a Council spokesperson told reporters.
The beginning of the summit has been scheduled for 10:30 am CET, with the small-scale meeting taking place right before it, as the officials strive to resolve the issues regarding Hungary's stance on Ukraine and its potential entry into the bloc.
Orban has repeatedly stated that Kiev is not ready to start negotiations on joining the EU, showing clear signs that Hungary is against Ukraine's accession.
