An airstrike conducted by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) allegedly killed four employees from the World Central Kitchen (WCK) in central Gaza's Deir al-Balah, Al Jazeera reported.

The WCK team supposedly consisted of citizens from Poland, Australia and the United Kingdom. The IDF stated that it is conducting a "thorough review at the highest levels to understand the circumstances of this tragic incident," adding that the Israeli army "has been working closely with WCK in their vital efforts to provide food and humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza."

"Humanitarian aid workers and civilians should never be a target," the WCK emphasized in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
