Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Thursday that nine people were killed in a Russian drone strike on a residential building in the Sumy region. He added that rescue efforts are still ongoing.
The attack also injured 13 people, including a child. "Everyone is receiving the necessary assistance. I want to thank every rescuer, every medical worker, and every police officer assisting on the ground," he wrote on Telegram.
Zelensky accused Russia of terrorism and called on the international community to respond to its attacks by supporting the Ukrainian people. "Russia must be forced into peace. The cause of this war lies solely with Russia," the Ukrainian president concluded.
