Telegram CEO and co-founder Pavel Durov is under investigation by the French National Police's Office for the Protection of Minors over suspicion of "serious violence" against one of his children, Agence France Press (AFP) reported on Wednesday.

According to AFP, Durov is suspected of committing acts of violence against his minor child while living in Paris. Previously, reports in the media appeared that the child's mother filed a complaint against Durov in Switzerland in 2023 for allegedly using "physical violence" against one of his three children but the Geneva court initially refused to consider the case.

Tass cited the prosecutor's office as saying the case "has no relation to the current proceedings" adding that Durov was not questioned about the matter by investigators.
