Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi accused the United States on Monday of "damaging legitimate rights and interests" of other countries, including China and South Korea, by adopting the CHIPS and Science Act and the Inflation Reduction Act.
Wang called on all countries to "jointly resist such outdated thinking of anti-globalization and unilateral bullying" and work on maintaining multilateralism.
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron reportedly also criticized Washington over "super aggressive" subsidies under the Inflation Reduction Act, while South Korea expressed concerns the bill could be in violation of the bilateral free trade agreement between Seoul and Washington.
