The White House has been preparing for a potential impeachment inquiry into United States President Joe Biden, despite believing Congress Republicans have no evidence to impeach him, NBC News reported on Friday, citing several people, including a White House aide, familiar with the matter.
One source told the outlet that the White House hired two dozen lawyers, legislative aides and communication staffer as part of their preparation for a possible impeachment. The person added that comparing a potential Biden impeachment to earlier impeachments would be like "apples to elephants" as "never in modern history has an impeachment been based on no evidence whatsoever."
Earlier, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy called for an impeachment inquiry into Biden over his and his son Hunter's (pictured right) foreign business dealings, stressing such a move would be "a natural step forward" after the conclusions of the Republican probe into the Biden family.
