The White House confirmed on Friday in a press release that Washington, Tokyo, and Seoul will be holding a trilateral summit on August 18 at Camp David.
At the summit, United States President Joe Biden, Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio and South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol will "celebrate a new chapter in their trilateral relationship as they reaffirm their strong bonds of friendship and the ironclad alliances," the White House shared.
The leaders are expected to discuss "expanding trilateral cooperation across the Indo-Pacific and beyond," which includes talks on North Korea's threats, as well as boosting ties with ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and the Pacific Islands.
