Senior Advisor for Energy Security Amos Hochstein (pictured) stated Wednesday that US President Joe Biden will continue to release additional output from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR).

The remarks come in tandem with news that the Biden administration will release 15 million barrels from the SPR. According to the previous statement, this move is set to complete the release of 180 million barrels announced last March.

"The president's going to keep a careful eye on announcing today that whatever we're doing today could continue and see additional SPR releases, if necessary," Hochstein told CNN. "The president's also going to be announcing that we are going to replenish the SPR," he added.
