United States National Security Council (NSC) Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby shared with reporters on Thursday that President Joe Biden's administration is ready to reconsider its policies towards Israel if the Middle Eastern country does not show "real changes" in its approach to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
"If we don't see real change from their side, then there'll have to be changes from our side," Kirby said stressing that after the killing of the World Central Kitchen workers, the US is expecting concrete changes in ceasefire, humanitarian aid open roads and deconflict the area. He also confirmed this was communicated to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his latest call with Biden.
Kirby noted no further details on what changing policy could mean but emphasized the US is looking for a tangible announcement by Israel to "alleviate humanitarian suffering in Gaza."
