Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday reaffirmed the country's commitment to Tehran in defending "its legal rights" and encouraged the "early" and "proper resolution" of the Iranian nuclear issue.
During Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi's visit to Beijing, Xi pointed out the significance of sustaining stability of the Middle Eastern region, underlining that such conditions are crucial to upholidng international peace, fostering global economic growth, as well as ensuring a stable supply of energy. "China will continue to constructively participate in the negotiations on resuming Iran's nuclear agreement," the Chinese president said.
"No matter how the international and regional situation changes, China will unswervingly maintain its friendship and cooperation with Iran and advance China-Iran comprehensive strategic partnership," Xi told his Iranian counterpart.
