Xi: China, UK should deepen political trust

Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Monday that China and the United Kingdom should "enhance strategic communication and deepen mutual political trust" in order to develop bilateral relations. Xi met with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Brazil.

"Both countries should stick to their strategic partnership [and] adhere to the principles of mutual respect, open cooperation, and mutual learning," Xi said, according to the state news agency Xinhua. He pointed out the "vast space for cooperation" between China and the UK, including trade and investment, clean energy, financial services and healthcare.
