Chinese President Xi Jinping is expected to travel to Moscow next week where he will meet his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday citing people familiar with the matter.

According to the report, the Chinese leader is also set to hold a virtual meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky following his trip to Moscow, marking the first time he speaks with Zelensky since the start of the war in Ukraine. Xi could also add several more European destinations to his trip, but the full itinerary is yet to be decided, the sources stressed.
