United States Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen left the Group of Twenty (G20) meeting on Wednesday together with officials from Ukraine once the Russian representatives began to speak, British Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak wrote on his Twitter account.
Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell and other global economic leaders also joined the walkout from the meeting, as was previously planned in order to protest against Moscow's military operation in Ukraine.
Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov was set to lead Moscow's delegation at the meeting, even though US President Joe Biden stated it should be removed from G20.
