A motion to impeach South Korea's President Yoon Suk-yeol over him imposing martial law this week was dismissed on Saturday due to a lack of quorum, local media reported.
According to Yonhap, all 192 opposition lawmakers and three lawmakers from the ruling People Power Party (PPP) participated in the vote. However, the required number of votes was not reached, with the motion falling short by five.
Earlier on Saturday, lawmakers from the ruling party announced they would largely boycott the session, later leaving the National Assembly after voting on a special counsel bill.
