Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his latest address said Russian troops have intentionally mined areas of northern Ukraine after withdrawing from the region.
Zelensky claimed "tens if not hundreds of thousands" of mines were left behind "deliberately" in an effort "to ensure that the return to these areas after de-occupation was as dangerous as possible."
The Ukrainian leader called the act a "war crime," noting that such a move would never be made without being approved by the Kremlin.
