Zelensky thanks Trump for visit

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked his American counterpart Donald Trump for hosting him despite their meeting ending abruptly following a heated argument.

" Thank you America, thank you for your support, thank you for this visit. Thank you @POTUS, Congress, and the American people. Ukraine needs just and lasting peace, and we are working exactly for that," Zelensky said in a post on X.

Earlier, Zelensky was asked to leave the White House as Trump claimed he was "disrespectful" and "not ready for peace" after the Ukrainian president dismissed his calls for a ceasefire, insisting Russia has violated such agreements in the past.
