Atlanta Fed upgrades US growth outlook for Q2

The real gross domestic product of the United States grew 3.9% in the three months through June, the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta estimated on Wednesday. The level compares to 3.8% on an annualized basis from the calculations as of July 6. The central bank's subsidiary used its GDPNow model and revised the reading, in the late stage of the cycle, to account for the contribution of inventory investment from today's official report on wholesale trade for May, the update revealed.

The equipment component slightly strenghtened against a retreat in residential investment, Atlanta Fed noted and also cited producer price inflation for June.
