China's response in trade talks unsatisfactory - Kudlow

So far, China's response to Washington's requests has been unsatisfactory, however, that can change in the future, said White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow in an interview to CNBC on Thursday.

The economist slammed Beijing for allegedly breaking trade law and stealing technology from the US, which is what needs to change through negotiations between world's two biggest economies. "The Chinese have to change the structure of their economy, abide by laws, and agree to a trade deal that would benefit the US economy more," he stressed.

Long term, Kudlow added, tariffs, non-trade barriers and subsidies should all be abolished in order to create a more leveled trade environment between the two countries.
