Conservative Party whip Johnson resigns

Conservative Party Whip and United Kingdom Member of Parliament Gareth Johnson resigned from his post on Monday, according to the Tory politician's statement released on Facebook.

"Along with nearly two thirds of my constituents and a majority of the country, I supported 'leave' in the referendum as I wanted the UK to take back the sovereignty we had lost during our membership of the European Union. Unfortunately, this agreement prevents us taking back control and instead could leave us perpetually constrained by the European Union," the statement reads.

Prime Minister Theresa May is expected to say later today, in her address before the House of Commons, that the parliament is more likely to block the Brexit process than to allow London to leave the EU without a deal.
