Dow set to fall over 170 points on open

United States stock index futures pointed to a lower open on Wall Street as investors await the nonfarm payrolls report due before the session begins.

Stocks are set to be affected by fresh tensions between the US and China over the arrest of Huawei CFO and Washington's request for her extradition. Investors concerns were somewhat eased by China's Commerce Ministry and US Donald Trump as both expressed confidence a trade deal between their countries will be reached within the next 90 days.

The Dow Jones is expected to fall 0.70% or 173 points, the Nasdaq 100 is seen 0.83% in the red and the S&P 500 is set to lose 0.71%. The euro traded flat against the dollar, going for 1.1379 at 12:37 pm CET.
