EIA: US crude inventories down by 4.1 million barrels

United States oil inventories decreased by 4.1 million barrels to 432.4 million barrels for the week ending June 8, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported on Wednesday.

Crude oil inputs averaged 17.5 million barrels per day last week, 136,000 barrels per day more than the previous week's average. Refineries operated at 95.7% of their capacity. Gasoline production increased from the previous week and averaged around 10.5 million barrels per day.

Crude oil imports averaged over 8.1 million barrels per day for the period, down by 247,000 barrels per day compared to the week before that. Meanwhile, total commercial petroleum inventories declined by 1.8 million barrels last week.
