Ending Irish backstop is London's 'sovereign decision' - Liam Fox

United Kingdom Secretary of International Trade Liam Fox (pictured) said on Wednesday that London must be able to "end the Irish backstop" in order to deliver on the Brexit referendum results from two years ago. He added, addressing the reporters, that it must be the UK's decision when the temporary arrangement with Brussels will end and that the "judgment" needs to be made by the "sovereign British government."

"That decision can’t be subcontracted to somebody else - that needs to be an issue for a sovereign British government to be able to determine," Fox pointed out.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Theresa May is expected to ask more time from the European leaders to reach a deal with the cabinet ministers. The ministers still have not seen a final text of the Brexit agreement, May reportedly only showed them a draft which lacks the final close addressing the backstop.
