Eurozone industrial production down by 1.7% in November

Seasonally adjusted industrial production in the Eurozone decreased by 1.7% in November compared to the month before, the statistical office of the bloc, Eurostat said in an estimate published on Monday. For the whole of the EU, industrial output was down 1.3% from October's figure. On an annual basis, the figure came in 3.3% lower for the euro area and 2.2% down for the EU28.

On a monthly basis, the largest negative contribution to the overall fall in Eurozone industrial output came from capital goods production, which decreased by 2.3%, followed by a 1.7% fall in durable consumer goods production. Meanwhile, production of intermediate goods was down by 1.2%, while non-durable consumer goods fell by 1%. For the EU28, the production of capital goods fell by 1.6%, intermediate goods by 1.1%, and durable consumer goods by 1.0%.

Highest monthly decreases in industrial production were recorded in Ireland (-7.5%), Portugal (-2.5%), Germany and Lithuania (-1.9%).
