Florence death toll: At least 11 dead

At least 11 people died as a result of hurricane Florence that hit North and South Carolina, officials said. The latest deaths involve two people who died in a house fire and an 81-year-old man who fell and hit his head while packing to evacuate.

Earlier, Virginia Governor Ralph Northman warned the people in the southwestern part of the state to prepare for flooding and possible landslides from the remnants of Florence, as this portion of the state is expecting up to 30 centimeters of rain.

Officials also warned residents in parts of North and South Carolina of heavy rains and inland flooding as Florence continued to crawl west of Myrtle Beach, South
Carolina at 2 mph. Forecasters say that Florence could weaken to a tropical depression.
