Four people died in Paris blast - Interior Minister

France's Interior Minister Christophe Castaner confirmed on Saturday that four people died in the explosion that happened earlier in the morning in the central Rue de Trevise. Ten others are in a critical condition, while in total 47 were injured.

He specified that victims include two firefighters and two civilians. Around 200 firefighters said were involved in the operation and that the explosion caused "heavy" damage, the minister added.

Paris prosecutor Remy Heitz said that just before the blast, firefighters were already deployed to the bakery to investigate a gas leak, which appears to have caused the accident. A full investigation is being conducted, he added.

Meanwhile, the French capital is bracing for the ninth round of Yellow Vests protests.
