German industrial production down 0.5% in October

Industrial production in Germany fell 0.5% in October compared to the previous month on a seasonally adjusted basis, the country's Federal Statistical Office Destatis reported on Friday. On an annual basis, the figure was up 1.6%, adjusted for price and calendar variations.

Excluding energy and construction, production the Eurozone's largest economy in October decreased by 0.4% compared to the previous month, while the production of consumer goods was down 3.2%. The production of capital goods increased by 0.3%., while intermediate goods production rose by 0.2%. Meanwhile, energy production declined 3.2% as production in construction decreased by 0.3%, according to the report.
