Ghosn paid $8M by Nissan-Mitsubishi entity - report

Former Nissan Chairman Carlos Ghosn was paid around $8 million from a joint venture by Nissan Motor Co. and its partner Mitsubishi Motors Corp, The Wall Street Journal reported citing a person familiar with the matter.

According to the report, Ghosn signed a deal with a Netherlands-based entity Nissan-Mitsubishi BV in February 2018 that granted him a $1.7 million signing bonus and salary of $6.7 million for the year through March 2019. By October, Ghosn already received a full year's salary, making his total income from entity around $8 million.

Ghosn was arrested in Japan on November and faces several charges including under-reporting of his income. He denied those charges in court last week.
