Google unveils new Assistant features

Google made a number of announcements at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, most of them related to its voice-powered artificial intelligence (AI) Assistant that has become an integral part of almost every consumer item the tech giant creates.

Among the announcements Google made is that, by the end of January, the Assistant will be on one billion devices around the world and will also be part of Google Maps on both iOS and Android. This year, Assistant will be compatible with Samsung TVs, while Lenovo is building an Assistant-powered smart clock.

Booking hotels and checking flights will now be done through Google Assistant and the new feature called Interpreter More will be able to translate conversations in 27 languages.
