Heathrow Airport reopens after drone incident

Heathrow Airport confirmed on Tuesday that the airport has reopened its runways, according to ITV News. The flights have resumed after being suspended following an alleged drone incident. However, the Metropolitan Police continues to investigate the incident.

Meanwhile, the British military has also stated that it was ready to deploy its Gatwick anti-drone equipment to deal with the drone sighting.

Following the Gatwick Airport three-day closure, British Security Minister Ben Wallace stated in December that drone detectors have been put in place and are ready to be deployed across the whole of the United Kingdom. Additionally, the British government gave police new powers to deal with the illegal use of drone technology.
